outreach at the tender age of nineteen. She has a heartfelt desire to

of the Word of God. She also has a passion to bring women to an
understanding of God’s purpose for His creation in the form of woman. Pastor Maya currently serves in the capacity of Co-Pastor,
assistant to her husband, Pastor Gary K. Taylor, Sr. of Open Word

Thus
far, to resolve challenges facing a large portion of today’s youth,
Pastor Maya developed the Xcelling Youth Zone, a program that helps
“at-risk” youth avoid the common mistakes of youth. For teenagers,
Pastor Maya created the Insignia Mentoring Program, (“Insignia”).
Pastor Maya is also the founder of Foundation Christian Academy. For those adults who are now
experiencing the results of decisions made in their youth, Pastor Maya
serves as a counselor, giving sound advice on how to transform their
relationships and their lives, as demonstrated in her mini-book, “Help,
I’m Trapped in an Unhealthy Relationship”.
Pastor
Maya exemplifies virtuous leadership. She has a compassionate heart and
an anointing to minister to all women and the entire Body of Christ.
Pastor Maya is a woman not satisfied with the status quo. She believes
in working to change the status. Her life proves “…we can do all things
through Christ who strengthens us.” (Philippians 4:13)
